Christmas - later in the day

The guys tell me that they don't celebrate Christmas. They claim to have celebrated the solstice (December 21). Yes they had a nice dinner of beef tenderloin and all the fixings on Monday night but tonight they had a dinner just like most people - turkey, stuffing, potatoes with gravy. As good buddies, they shared the dinner with me. Here I am enjoying some turkey, stuffing and gravy mixed in with my kibble! Yummmmmmmm!!!

Now I have a messy beard --- but it was worth it!

Merry Christmas

I am sitting here laying by the fire relaxing and I figured that I have not posted for a while. I know the guys have taken photos and videos of me but they don't get around to posting them on my blog. So here are a few of how I spent my Christmas day.

This morning, the guys and I went to our local dog park. We all thought we would be the only ones there but there were a few dogs there including this pit bull that kept on wanting to rough house with me. I had to tell him no in no uncertain terms. He did take notice and we were able to run around the park. After the pit bull left, an old buddy Casper (a Great Pyrenees) came in. He likes to run a little bit. I make sure I don't go too fast for the big guy. We stayed about 30 minutes at the park and came home.

Here are some photos of me in my crate relaxing. I hope to talk the guys into posting more often. Stay tuned to see if I am successful.

Paws for a Cause

Today the guys and I went to Crescent Park in South Surrey for the BCSPCA's Paws for a Cause walk. Our grand total of pledges was $445. Thank you to all the people who made the committment to support us on the walk. Here are some photos of the walk.

Guarding my house

I was minding my own business cuddling with Rick when an intruder started to walk towards the house.

Now I am on guard!!!!!

Update on my life

My life has been in turmoil this past while. My grandparents have been busy packing their things and this morning they left. The guys say they have moved back home to Regina. They tell me that we will go on a road trip next year to visit them.

Last night, another dog has arrived. I hear we are looking after Bailey for the weekend while her owner has gone away for the weekend.

We get along very well but there are times when I wish she would leave me alone.

And to top of the week I am having, I was taken to a house a few blocks away. The guys tell me that I am to be professionally groomed. I guess this is what happens when your sister comes to visit. She was here the other night and I heard the adults talking about where Maya gets groomed. And now this!!!!

Here is my new look - what do you think?

Video of my trip to Victoria

Here I am walking down Douglas Street

. . . walking through Beacon Hill Park

. . . rock climbing

. . . strolling along the sea

. . . the day ends with me getting stung! You can see at the end of the video me jumping with my rear paw in the air. I ended up with the guys taking me to a very nice vet clinic. I was examined and declared in good health but was given two shots, some pills to take at home and sent on my way. The guys and I wish that Dr. Nigel practised closer to my home. I really like him.

Trip To Victoria

Yes I know, it has been a long time since I have posted anything. Yes, life was that boring --- the guys go away to the UK and Ireland and leave me home. But they redeemed themselves with a trip to Victoria. It was a great trip. I got to stay in a fancy hotel - The Delta Victoria Ocean Pointe Resort and Spa. Yes they let dogs stay there but we are not allowed in the spa!

I wandered the mean streets of Victoria for two days. I spent time wading in the ocean, eating ice cream, watching people walk by, chased a few crows, and I was even able to go into a few stores!

The guys took a number of photos - too many to upload to the blog but I hear you can see them here.

My Trip to Seattle, Washington, USA!!!

Today, when the guys asked "Wanna go for a car ride?" they really meant it! We drove for two hours and ended up in a big city called Seattle. We went to Seattle to check out where Rick is going to be picking up Bob next weekend after his two day bike ride for "Ride to Conquer Cancer" You can visit his page at the Ride's website by clicking here.

As you can see, I had to back seat drive the whole way.

We visited a very busy public market full of people, fruits, vegetables, birds, dogs and one really scary bronze pig! Here I am being a canine ambassador with one of our American colleagues.

We stopped for a cookie break (ginger snaps and snickerdoodles - not the dog type).

This is me outside the Seattle Art Museum.

On the long ride home, I had a snooze. It is tiring being a dog in the big city!

Fun in the Park

Today the guys and I went to a park in a different part of town for a walk (but I heard later it was for ulterior motives - read on). They had me on my 20' lead so I was able to run about and explore things better than the usual short lead. Here is a picture of me at the park:

The really interesting part of the visit to the park was meeting up with Flynn. Flynn is a 10 month old Irish Terrier. Bob had met up with him last weekend while riding his bike and Flynn's owners had told Bob when they usually go to the park. Now you know what I mean by the trip to the park had an ulterior motive!! He are some photos and a video of Flynn and me at the park.

The Comforts of Home

During these foggy days when it is not good for window monitoring, a dog just has to avail himself of the comforts of home.

One of Rick's students made me a new food bowl. Here I am testing it out! Thank you to E.S. : )
