Walk on the wild side

Boy, you go for a nice walk in the hood, and then THIS happens!

I held off for as long as I could, to give the poor fellow a chance to scram, but I was forced to put him in his place.  Idiot cat!

Stick

So, this is my newest stick.  Once in a while the guys take me to a fenced area where I can run and chase sticks.  I know they don't want me to bring them home, but I try my best to smuggle them.  They didn't think I would be able to even get this through the gate, but I am much too clever for them!  Unfortunately, I had to set it down briefly and that darn lead dragged me away.  Oh well, I'll get one of these home eventually, where it will make a nice addition to our house!

Whoa!!  I must have dozed off there a bit!  Sooo....where was I?

The guys and I went to Kelowna to visit my Grandpeople.  My Grandnanny wasn't feeling well, but she is feeling better now, so it was probably my visit that helped!  Here I am relaxing in a lovely park by the big lake, which I will NOT be going into!!

New Business?

We don't need ADT at our new place.  I am on guard 24 hours a day.

Thanks to cousin Ali for the sign.

Happy New Year

I thought that, since I have been blogging since 2007, I would show you a photo of how I work.

I wish every one a happy and prosperous 2011!

Guarding the new house

We have moved into our new condo.  I don't have much of a yard to guard but I am still "on-guard!"

The following is what I get told constantly:

Paws for a Cause

Today I participated in the BCSPCA's annual Paws for A Cause walk in Surrey.   Thanks to my friends who donated online, I raised over $300.00 to assist my animal friends who are not as fortunate as myself.

It was a rainy day here in Surrey but it didn't dampen my enthusiasm to be in the woods.

I met a local Irish lass:

Below is a video of my experiences walking through the woods:

A New Friend

I had fun with a new friend today.  Rick's class will be sharing a stuffed lion (Latimer) with a school in Scotland.  So the guys and I took Latimer to the local dog park.  Before we left, I got acquainted with him at home

and then in the car.

The other two photos are at the dog park.

A Long Awaited Update - I Have Been Busy!

Where shall I start . . .

Spring on the West Coast was wet and cool.  Everyone knows that I am cool but I don't like to be wet!

Sigh!
Good news . . . it didn't last forever.  Enjoy some photos of yours truly hangin' in my dog park 'hood.

Awww come on - throw it!

Ha!  It's mine now!

Can't catch me!!!

MMMMM - now what should we do?

So, like moo . . .

Nothing like an after grazing stick!

Sometimes, all that play makes an Irish fella want a little down time.

Do these pillows make my butt look fat?

Solved!

Dad singing me to sleep.

It worked.
As you may or may not know, the guys had to go over to Scotland for the second time this year.  Last time, I was looked after by my groomer (Bark Avenue - awesome).  This time, I went for a week long pool party at Jennie's house.  Her good friend Wendy looked after us very well.

Time for play . . .

Time for socializing . . .

Time for sharing . . .

Time for relaxing . . .

. . . and me time!

When we all finally got home, I was making sure that neither crate nor bed was going anywhere for awhile.

Well I was wrong - but gladly so.  Soon we were off to my favourite holiday destination ----- Victoria.  Cousin Alison came with us.  She is fun to have around - and enjoys me waking her up in the morning.

A stroll on the beach

A free snack at a market in James Bay

where I got to try on some jewelery (NOT my choice!!)

Looking out at the harbour
My view (if I turned around of course)
Relaxing on my own bed
Shmoozing with my fans
All clear on the southern front -- captain!
At the BC Parliament Buildings (otherwise known as the BC Legistlature)
And so we head back home

Now to today . . .

As you can see ------ I needed a hair trim, to say the least:

The scruffy look
I may not have enjoyed it (yeah, I am talking to you!)
But I look damn fine!
OK now we are up to date.  Hopefully it won't be so long between updates from now on.  But that is kind of out of my paws.

Keeping watch

I am proud to say that no birds are able to nest on my watch in this yard.

... in the fall

... in the spring!

Dougal Dog Park

Earlier this month, the guys took me to the local dog park. I just came back from hair/make up so I am looking my best.

Here is a slide show compilation of my visit. The music is the instrumental version of "I Believe" from the local celebration!

Christmas - later in the day

The guys tell me that they don't celebrate Christmas. They claim to have celebrated the solstice (December 21). Yes they had a nice dinner of beef tenderloin and all the fixings on Monday night but tonight they had a dinner just like most people - turkey, stuffing, potatoes with gravy. As good buddies, they shared the dinner with me. Here I am enjoying some turkey, stuffing and gravy mixed in with my kibble! Yummmmmmmm!!!

Now I have a messy beard --- but it was worth it!

Merry Christmas

I am sitting here laying by the fire relaxing and I figured that I have not posted for a while. I know the guys have taken photos and videos of me but they don't get around to posting them on my blog. So here are a few of how I spent my Christmas day.

This morning, the guys and I went to our local dog park. We all thought we would be the only ones there but there were a few dogs there including this pit bull that kept on wanting to rough house with me. I had to tell him no in no uncertain terms. He did take notice and we were able to run around the park. After the pit bull left, an old buddy Casper (a Great Pyrenees) came in. He likes to run a little bit. I make sure I don't go too fast for the big guy. We stayed about 30 minutes at the park and came home.

Here are some photos of me in my crate relaxing. I hope to talk the guys into posting more often. Stay tuned to see if I am successful.
