The Guys are Back

Well the guys are back from their trip to California. They tell me that they could not take me but I am not buying it! Rick had a school library conference in Berkeley to attend so Bob tagged along and poor me got left behind. Before they left, they took a few photos of me - they said it was to show me off to friends that they will meet up with but I was not too sure. I would not co-operate until biscuits were involved.

I guess they were telling the truth about missing me because as they unpacked their suitcases they brought our a bronze statue of me - well it looked like me but the ears were a little different. This is now sitting beside the Irish whiskey (that Rick brought home)! Then they brought out a yellow diamond with an outline of me that said Irish Terrier crossing! Whenever I go outside I can look up and see this sign - I think it is cool!

They tell me that we are going to go on a road trip - just the three of us. I hear a ferry ride and a stay at a hotel is being planned. I hope it is Victoria because I like that place. Remember I went there last year. View blog entry.

Stay tuned!!!

Catching Up

I know it has been a long time since anything was posted here! But it is summer and I have have been a little busy. Rick is on holidays so it is great, the crate is almost a distant memory. I get to explore the yard almost all day - no bird dares to come close now.

I have had a number of adventures since my last posting. I have been to the dog park a few times. As always there is a variety of dogs running about - poodles, pointers, shepherds, mixed breeds . . .

As you can see, I have a great time at the dog park!

New Pastime

The guys were so nice to move the comfy foot stool from the family room to the living room. They put it right in front of the window. Now I get to watch the world go by my house.

The the frustrating part is the fact that bunnies live across the street. They stroll down the side of the road grazing on the grass - and I can't get them. Life is so unfair at times!

One Year Later!

I have been living with the guys for a whole year this weekend. The following is a small collection of my year with them. Enjoy!!!!

Supervising Again

Another weekend, another supervising job. As you can see, the yard was a construction site again. The guys redesigned the south side of the yard this time. They made a raised triangular garden bed with trees (Portuguese Laurel; Alaskan Weeping Willow; Korean Dogwood), a rhododendron, day lilies and a few other things. They tell me that they plan to add bedding plants when the weather gets better. As they were planting, I had to make sure my views were known!

Just to let you know - I am the thin one in the photo above!!!!!!!

Here is the finished product:

Today is my birthday!

Happy birthday to me!
Happy birthday to me!
Happy birthday to Dougal!
Happy birthday to ME!!!!!!!!!

I am one today! Yes such a milestone - my first birthday. I got a card in the mail from my favourite store in the world - Petsmart saying that I could have any toy. It took a lot of convincing but the guys finally relented and took me there.

I had a great time choosing the perfect toy.

Here is the one I chose!

Dog Park

I think Spring has come - I took the guys to the dog park today! On the way to the park, they stopped in at a very interesting place. Although I could not go in, I could hear all sorts of dogs and could smell some goats. They tell me it is a "kennel" where I get to stay for a few days while they go away. At this time, I will leave judgement of this "kennel" place until I stay there!

Back to the dog park, I had a fabulous time. There were all sorts of dogs to sniff and play with but my favourite thing to do is run!!!!!!

Robbie Burns Day

On Saturday the guys had their annual Robbie Burns supper. I was a little worried about this when they started to speak weird sounding words:

Some hae meat and canna eat,
And some wad eat that want it;
But we hae meat and we can eat,
And sae the Lord be thankit.

But then they mentioned something about a haggis. I was starting to think they were getting a replacement for me. I was not too sure about this haggis thing.

When Saturday came my fears were put to rest. The words they were speaking were from a famous Scottish poet, Robbie Burns and they were celebrating his birth with a traditional Robbie Burns supper. Haggis is something to eat not a pet (even though I hear rumours of haggis in the wild) --------- and by the way -------- haggis is delicious. I want more!

The best part of the day was the new "toy" I was given. Watch the following video and see how much fun I had with it.

If only I could figure out a way to get into the whisky.

I am a graduate again

Well I did it again! I am a graduate of Intermediate dog training. The guys are very proud of me. I did my test on Wednesday night (I couldn't be tested with my classmates because one of my dads had surgery that day so I had to do a make up test!!). I did very well. Take a look at my report card!

PS - I am still waiting for my grad present from the guys!!!!!

PSS - I have no comment regarding this cartoon!!!

A New Year - A New Hair Style

Happy New Year.

The guys thought is was time for me to undergo my first major grooming session. Yes my fur was getting a little unruly in spots but I liked my look. See I am not that bad.

But it didn't matter to the guys, they decided I needed to be stripped. I was afraid what that meant - hey I didn't want to loose my fur. I like my fur!!!

Needless to say, they decided to strip me. It wasn't as bad as I first thought. When they were done, I still had a nice fur coat.

What do you think? Very handsome eh?

But then I looked over at the table, half my fur was off my body! What have they done to me?

Oh well I guess I do look OK with the fur that is left!!

Christmas 2007

You can't have any privacy in this house. I was trying very hard to bury my bone I now I see it was being filmed all along. What is a poor terrier to do?
